Registration and Enrollment
Please note
Generally, you will not be permitted to register after October 15 (or April 15, if starting in the summer semester).
You will actually enroll (Immatrikulation) at the University after you arrive in Osnabrück. You should register promptly at the beginning of the semester.
To enroll, you must visit the Admissions Office (Studierendensekretariat) in person. Please take the following with you:
- confirmation that you have health insurance in Germany or that you are exempt from being insured here (this document can be acquired from the Allgemeine Ortskrankenkasse of the City of Osnabrück and can only be obtained if your own insurance coverage is recognized in Germany)
- semester fee receipt
- passport photo (for your campuscard)
- passport containing visa/residence permit
- original of your secondary school diploma(s) (only in some cases)
- other documents (if requested in your letter of admission)
Campuscard
Once you have completed your registration, you will receive your campuscard (Studienausweis) and certificates of enrollment (Immatrikulationsbescheinigung). Your campuscard will allow you to ride for free on buses in and around Osnabrück and on certain trains. For detailed information, see the AStA's website.
