| Beschreibung: | The aim of the talk is to describe the classic Minkowski problem which consists, in the smooth case, in finding a closed convex surface with prescribed Gauss curvature as a function of the outer unit normal. I will insist on the variational (and equivalent) formulation of this problem, that is to retrieve a compact convex set K, given the first variation of the volume at K. This approach provides a way to solve the Minkowski problem itself, but also suggests similar problems, where the volume is replaced by some other functionals either of geometric type, or of a quite different nature. |
