You will need about 660 Euro per month to cover the cost of living and studying in Osnabrück.

• food: The student cafeterias (Mensa), run by the Studentenwerk Osnabrück, offer low-cost menus (each about 3 Euro a day).

• semester fees: 252.27 Euro per semester (or 177.27 Euro per semester for students from partner universities and international grant recipients)
  
• study fee: 500 Euro per semester (not for exchange students and PhD students)
  
• residence permit (usually valid for two years): as of 01 September 2011: approx. 100 Euro
  
• housing deposit: Normally, you must pay a deposit for an apartment or room, which will be returned to you when you move out. Private rooms or apartments usually require a deposit of three months’ rent. Student dormitories require a deposit of 250 Euro for a room and 500 Euro for an apartment. Students in exchange programs must put down a deposit of 400 Euro.
