
The University of Osnabrück feels especially obligated to encourage international understanding and cooperation. It places a high value on relations with foreign universities. International students and scientists are particularly welcome in Osnabrück.
During recent years, the number of international students has climbed continuously and is currently pegged at 1200, or 11% of the student body. Doctoral candidates and scientists from all over the world work on many international research projects.
To German students, the University of Osnabrück offers many chances to study abroad: seven North American universities and colleges, ten Canadian, three Japanese, four Australian universities, and over seventy other institutions of higher education worldwide are open to Osnabrück students. Intra-European student exchanges have increased with the introduction of the LLP/ERASMUS program: more than three hundred places for Osnabrück students are available through over one hundred partnerships with European universities.
