The situation for German universities is changing: innovative programs are joining the current ones; international agreements allow for more mobility among students and faculty. Universities not only compete for increasingly less money, but also for highly qualified students.
Considering the circumstances, the University of Osnabrück believes that it is especially significant to continue working on goal-oriented development and a clear profile. New programs are interdisciplinary, as well as internationally oriented. Evaluations assure the quality of research and instruction, and support the further development of the University. A stronger emphasis on internationalization is meant to give the University an interesting, lasting international profile.
At the same time, the University of Osnabrück is conscious of its responsibility to the region, and so it employs its innovative strengths and knowledge in many different types of cooperative projects in order to develop the region.
