“Sing!”—Johann Sebastian Bach’s famous motet BWV 225 begins with this musical invitation, and the University of Osnabrück Chamber Choir has also made this its theme for this semester’s program. The program features works whose texts are based on words already set to music: The choir will present St. Francis’s famous Canticle of the Sun in a setting by Petr Eben, Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy’s Magnificat, as well as lesser-known works such as the Canticum Simeonis in a version for mixed choir and solo flute.
