University invites you to an event in the theater

The working group "Ethics and Critical Theories of Artificial Intelligence" at Osnabrück University invites you to a discussion on Tuesday, June 3, on the protection of democracy in times of techno-authoritarian politics. The event will take place at the Osnabrück Theater.

What happens when artificial intelligence is used to control state processes - and increasingly undermines democratic principles? The "Ethics and Critical Theories of Artificial Intelligence" working group at Osnabrück University invites you to a discussion on the protection of democracy in times of techno-authoritarian politics on June 3. Contributions from science and art will shed light on the connection between AI and ultra-right-wing movements at the Osnabrück Theater, Theater am Domhof 10/11, at 7 pm. Admission is free, registration at  karten@theater-osnabrueck.de  Program and further information

The radical restructuring of the rule of law can be observed in the USA: Tens of thousands of state employees have been laid off, while unelected tech billionaires like Elon Musk are taking control of political and administrative processes. "In the events, we want to look at the ideological background to these processes and ask whether this could also happen in Germany and Europe," says Prof. Dr. Rainer Mühlhoff from Osnabrück University.

It is also planned to report on the work with schoolchildren on the topic of imagining the future with or without AI, which has taken place over the past year as part of the "Predicted Futures" project funded by zukunft.niedersachsen.
