Living in Osnabrück

Osnabrück, which has around 160,000 inhabitants, is the third largest city in Lower Saxony. The image of the 1,200-year-old diocesan town is strongly shaped by the over 25,000 students who attend Osnabrück University or Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences. The medieval Old Town, featuring restored timber-framed houses, is a unique backdrop to the city’s gastronomy and art trade. Just a few steps away, modern shopping centers invite passers-by to browse and shop.

Cities such as Hannover, Hamburg, Amsterdam and Berlin are within easy reach by car or train. Osnabrück is situated at the intersection of important junctions running from north to south and east to west (the A1, A30 highways). Münster-Osnabrück airport is just a 30-minute drive away.

In Osnabrück, the most popular means of transport is the bicycle. The city also has a highly developed public transport network. The charming surroundings of Osnabrück are well worth a visit.
