This workshop presents the principles of proposal writing. The lecturers give an overview of funding agencies for research projects and explain how research applications are evaluated.

To run a PhD smoothly a dissertation proposal (a “small” research proposal) is helpful. In this workshop the basics of dissertation proposals are presented by working with examples and exercises.

The research lunch is an event format at lunchtime with different topics and external speakers for professors and experienced researchers of the Osnabrück University.

Research lunch and University Society

The research Lunch addresses professors and experienced researchers. Dates will be announced in the research newsletter. The events are usually on wednesdays at lunchtime with financial support from the University Society.

Cooperation with institutions at the Osnabrück University

Events are also organized in cooperation with the Equal Opportunities Office, the Center for PhD students and postdocs (ZePrOs) or the International Office. An example of this cooperation was an event organized in cooperation with the Equal Opportunities Office. Dr. Sabine Jösting presented prerequisites to become a successful scientist, but also obstacles in the way of third-party funding at European level. Nadine Heller, Assistant to the EU office of the BMBF in Bonn, offered an overview of funding opportunities for research projects of the EU. Dr. Sonja Schmidt gave an overview of support services.
