In this lecture course, we will look at the why's and how's of language evolution from the earliest days to modern language contact scenarios. We will study fossils, explore the "language" of animals and debate the physiological and cognitive underpinnings of language.

This course will be an asynchronous online lecture, with weekly recordings that you can watch whenever you like.

For 2 CP (Studienleistung) you need to pass a final online test with at least 50%, for 3 CP (Studienleistung) you need to pass with at least 60%. Please note that there is no Prüfungsleistung available for this course!
