Erasmus+ with Partner Countries (KA171)

The Erasmus+ program with partner countries (KA171) is the European Union’s program for promoting exchange with countries outside the European Union (EU). There are a range of programs which enable students and professors as well as academic staff members to spend time in one of these partner countries. This program line also supports incoming exchanges.

At Osnabrück University, Erasmus+ funding for exchanges with partner countries is currently (project year 2023, period of use: 01/08/2023 - 31/07/2026) available in the following countries and universities:

Students

  • You are a student at Osnabrück University (in Egypt and China only exchanges at PhD level possible; mobilities to Ukraine are currently not possible).
  • The stay lasts a minimum of three and a maximum of 12 months.
  • The exchange is agreed with the contact person responsible for the project in the respective institute/school.

Lecturers

  • You teach at Osnabrück University (lecturers who are employed under a contract at the university, unfunded lecturers, assistant lecturers with a contract for work and services, emeritus professors and retired lecturers, research assistants).
  • The stay lasts at least five days or a maximum of six weeks and includes at least eight hours of teaching per working week.
  • The exchange is agreed with the contact person responsible for the project in the respective institute/school.

Employees

  • You are an employee of Osnabrueck University (all areas are possible - e.g. general/technical administration, library, departments, finance, public relations, student counselling/secretariat, personnel/further education, etc.).
  • The stay lasts at least five days or a maximum of six weeks.
  • The exchange is agreed with the contact person responsible for the project in the respective institute/school

Students

Students:The application deadline and application documents are based on the regular announcement for exchanges with partner universities (Erasmus department partnerships). In any case, please contact the above-mentioned persons in the respective school / institute. Further information on the application.

Lecturers /employees

The application documents (Mobility Agreement, see downloads) are accepted by Anne Bartke (International Office) on an ongoing basis. The following deadlines apply:

- stays from October - December: until 01 September

- stays from January - March: until 01 December

- stays from April - June: until 01 March

- stays from July - September: until 01 June
 

The application documents will be processed after the deadline.

The International Office and selected representatives of the schools/institutes (mobility for lecturers/staff) or the contact person in the school/institut (student mobility) select and review the application documents, taking into account the available funds. Then, the International Office/school/institute sends out funding confirmations and information on how to proceed.

General selection criteria:

The number of potential participants in the Erasmus+ programme with partner countries is very limited due to the thematic focus. The following criteria have been defined as prerequisites for the successful completion of a stay abroad in the above-mentioned partner countries and partner universities:

  •     the applicant is anchored in the disciplines involved in the programme.
  •     the applicant is pursuing a study/research project that proves to be suitable for the focus areas of the partner university.
  •     the applicant meets the necessary language requirements, if applicable (please enquire in the participating school/institute)
  •     the stay abroad is a component of personal study and career planning.
  •     for students: High performance, motivation and social commitment

Travel support

  • Travel support for outward and return journey, according to distance calculator:

    • Albania, Ukraine: 275,00 EUR (Green Travel: 320,00 EUR)
    • Egypt: 530,00 EUR (Green Travel: 610,00 EUR)
    • China, Taiwan: 1500,00 EUR
    • If a starting point other than Osnabrück is chosen for the journey, the flat rate may be higher or lower.

Individual support

  • Individual Support

    • Students: 700 EUR/month (or 23,33 EUR/day)
      * Students with a disability from 20% upwards (GdB 20), a chronic illness, first-time academics, working students and students with child/ren are can receive a subsidy for additional costs during an Erasmus stay abroad (a “social top-up” of 250 EUR/month). Please contact the International Office for information and advice.
    • Teachers/Staff: up to the 14th day of the stay (excluding travel days): 180 EUR/day; from the 15th to the 60th day of the stay (excluding travel days) 70% of the rate: 126 EUR/day
