Peter and Paul on the Via Appia: New reflections on the veneration of the apostles in Rome

18.11.2021 - 16:30 (not 16:15!) - 18:00

 Prof. Barbara Borg, Exeter

The lecture series begins with Barbara Borg, a renowned specialist on Roman funerary culture. In her lecture, she will expand her previous observations, which she recently published in her monograph Roman Tombs and the Art of Commemoration (Cambridge 2019), to include the Christian veneration of the apostles, thus providing new perspectives on our understanding of Roman funerary culture and its transformation.
