Mobility

In close methodological and disciplinary collaboration (with  Prof. Dr. Meike Rühl, Latin Studies), the project 'Bewegtes Leben: Mobility and Images of Mobility of Emperors and Empresses' Wives in the Roman Principate' reconstructs and analyzes the presence of emperors' wives in the empire on the basis of epigraphic and literary evidence. With the help of a broad socio-geographically based set of instruments, the striking discrepancy in the portrayal of the gendered mobility of the imperial house is investigated.
