The Institute for Art/Art Education brings together the diverse facets of the visual arts and is distinguished by the interweaving of artistic practice, art and media studies, and art education in its teaching and research. These disciplines are currently represented by the departments of Sculpture/Art in Public Spaces, Time-Based Art, Media and Design, Painting, Graphic Arts and Science of Art with a focus on transculturality and Art Education and Outreach, and are led by six full professors and one adjunct professor.
