Internship supervision

The Internship Office is responsible for internship counseling at the Institute of Social Sciences at Osnabrück University. Students receive support here with all questions relating to the internship.

The services offered by the internship office include

  • Provision of all necessary forms
  • Issuing proof of compulsory internships for internship applications
  • Organization of information events
  • Publication of internship offers (see below on this website)
  • Tips on applying and preparing the internship report

Sample procedure for crediting an internship

  1. Look for an internship in a social science field. Requirements for the scope: in the Bachelor of Social Sciences, European Studies, 2 FB core subject Sociology/Politics: 210 hours; in the Master of Sociology, Democratic Governance and Civil Society for 4 ECTS: 120 hours/ for 6 ECTS: 180 hours; in the Master of Conflict Studies and Peacebuilding: 180 hours; internship abroad in the Master of European Governance: min. 2 months full-time (i.e. 60 days); for formalities, see internship guidelines.
  2. Registration of the internship with the form " Internship Confirmation" (please fill out the form on the PC; important: job description and signature of the internship position) before the start of the internship in the internship office
  3. Independent search for an internship supervisor at the Institute of Social Sciences (full-time lecturers, no lecturers), for students of a dual-subject Bachelor the internship office takes over. The approved form "Internship Confirmation" should be submitted to the supervisor.
  4. Internship phase
  5. After the internship, submit to the supervisor: a) Internship report (see guidelines for requirements, submission deadline for the report can be agreed individually with the supervisor); b) Copy of the internship certificate from the internship position (stating the period and hours worked); c) "Recognition as a professional internship" form ( BA/MA is signed by the supervisor of the report, not by the internship position). d) Only for students in the dual-subject Bachelor:  Certificate on the acquisition of key competencies (Internship report with 2 CP can be credited as step 3 or subject-related key competence, please enter as appropriate)
  6. In addition, send the internship report as a pdf document by e-mail to the Internship Office.
  7. Registration in HISinOne/Opium is not required for the internship. The points are entered by the examination office.
