Course Catalog

Dear Students,

This brochure provides information about studying law at Osnabrück University. You will be amazed at how diverse our program offerings are. For first-year students, two degree programs are available: the traditional law program leading to the “First Examination”/Diploma (formerly the State Examination) and the Bachelor’s program in Business Law. In addition, the school offers a master’s program: German Law (for foreign lawyers). These programs are complemented by a wide range of additional offerings, such as the option for supplementary business training, specialized foreign language training (FFA), and particularly intensive exam preparation (OsnaRep). International moot courts, field trips, competitions, and semesters abroad provide opportunities to broaden your horizons.

However, a successful law degree consists not only of academic achievements but
also of social and community engagement and personal connections. Here, too, there are many opportunities to get involved, deepen your knowledge, and make friends—for example, in the Law Student Council, at EL§A (European Law Students’ Association), or at Justus e.V., the school’s student support association. And so that you won’t miss out on these connections even after graduation, we’ve founded OsnaLex, an alumni association that makes it easy for you
to stay in touch with us and your fellow students.

On behalf of the Dean’s Office, I wish you a successful start to the new academic year
and look forward to your engagement and feedback.
