Biography

Matt LeMieux is a graduate of the Michigan State University College of Law and holds a doctorate in law from Osnabrück University. Before coming to Germany, he served as executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union offices in Nebraska and Missouri.

Patrick J. Campbell

Biography

Patrick brings a wealth of knowledge in the areas of corporate governance and compliance. He specializes in anti-money laundering, ITAR/EAR regulations, and contract law, and has provided extensive training and consulting to organizations in these critical areas. With an LLM in International Business Law, Justice, and Development from the University of London (Birkbeck College), he offers a strong academic foundation combined with practical insights gained through years of experience in developing and delivering legal training in the DACH region. His focus is on providing students with a deep understanding of the key aspects of English law and its application in international contexts.

FFA English (UK)

  • Rosemary Toll
    Rosemary Toll is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in intellectual property law at the University of Manchester. In addition to her research, Rosemary Toll teaches various aspects of private and commercial law at the University of Manchester, Manchester Metropolitan University, and the Open University. Rosemary has a background in music (BMus (Hons), MMus, Royal Northern College of Music). In 2013, she earned a law degree, followed by an LL.M. in intellectual property law (University of Manchester). In 2017, Rosemary was called to the Bar of England and Wales (Middle Temple) and accredited as a civil and commercial mediator.

  • Gregory Koory - Greg is an associate (foreign attorney) in the Düsseldorf office of Clifford Chance, where he advises clients on all aspects of cross-border M&A transactions and multinational restructurings. Greg holds a B.A. from the University of Michigan and a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School. He also holds a Master of Science from the Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School and is admitted to practice law in Michigan (2005) and Washington, D.C. (2017), among other jurisdictions.

  • Dr. Wayne Carroll - Wayne is In-House Counsel at PricewaterhouseCoopers GmbH in Frankfurt am Main, where he focuses primarily on global risk management and regulatory compliance. His main areas of practice are corporate compliance and training (sanctions/export control, anti-corruption, competition law, and insider trading), ethics, and the law of professional responsibility. Before moving to Germany, Wayne worked as an attorney at the U.S. Trade Representative in Washington, D.C. Before beginning his studies in German law in 1996, he practiced as an attorney in the securities litigation group at the Boston law firm Hale & Dorr. Wayne holds a J.D. from Suffolk Law School in Boston, an LL.M. from the University of Frankfurt, and a Ph.D. in law from the University of Münster.

  • Colleen Cox - Colleen is a U.S. attorney admitted to practice in California and New York. She earned her Juris Doctor (cum laude) from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, California, USA, and received her Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Intellectual Property Law from Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf, Germany. Before coming to Germany, she worked as a trial attorney and most recently specialized in class actions. She is currently a lecturer at Osnabrück University in various areas of common law.

    Chair of Chinese Law - Center for International Research on Chinese Law and Economics (CIRCLE)
  • Huijun Chen
    Huijun Chen earned her Doctorate from the China University of Political Science and Law with a focus on criminal procedure law and also served as a joint Ph.D. student at the University of Cologne. She subsequently worked as a postdoctoral researcher and lecturer at East China University of Political Science and Law. She is currently conducting research as a doctoral candidate in the field of law at Osnabrück University.

  • Prof. Dr. Nathalie Baillon-Wirtz
    Prof. Nathalie Baillon-Wirtz is a lecturer in private law at the University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne. She is also the director of the university’s Master’s program in notarial law and is responsible for the professional licensing process in notarial law. Her courses include Personal Law, Inheritance Law and Gifts, Law of Sole Proprietorships, Family Law, and Civil Procedure Law.
  • Prof. Dr. Tarek El Ghadban
    Dr. Tarek El Ghadban is a lecturer at the Faculty of Law at Cairo University and a visiting lecturer at the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, where he earned his Ph.D. in international and European law. He received a Bachelor’s degree in French law from the same university and a Bachelor’s degree in Egyptian law from Cairo University. He also holds a Master 1 degree in international and European business law and a Master 2 degree in international and international commercial law from the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. He is a member of the International Law Association (ILA) and co-rapporteur of the European Group of Private International Law (GEDIP).
  •  Prof. Dr. Aurore Gaillet
    Prof. Dr. Aurore Gaillet is a professor of public law at the University of Toulouse at the Center for Comparative Law within the Research Institute for European, International, and Comparative Law (IRDEIC). She is a junior member of the Institut Universitaire de France (IUL) (2018–2023). She is also Director of the Toulouse Law Academy.
  •  Dr. Aude Brejon
    Dr. Aude Brejon is a French lawyer with a Ph.D. in international law. She recently led a comparative study on international prosecutors, which was awarded the 2021 Research Prize by the Academy for the International Nuremberg Principles. She is currently focusing on post-conviction international criminal justice and the international status of international organizations. In addition to teaching in various fields of law, such as international law and criminal law, Dr. Brejon also serves as a legal advisor to criminal defense attorneys and prosecutors’ offices.
  •  Marie-Celine Pallas
    As a doctoral candidate in public law in France, Ms. Pallas is conducting research on American law as part of her dissertation. She also teaches foundational courses in public law, such as an introduction to public law—as in the DFG program—and constitutional law, as well as subjects related to common law countries (the political system of the United States, the political culture of Anglo-Saxon countries).

  • Elvia Serrano Marquez
    She holds a law degree from the Universidad Libre de Colombia in Colombia. She also earned a Master’s degree in “Protection of International Human Rights” from the University of Alcalá de Henares in Madrid, Spain. Her area of specialization is criminal law; her other areas of practice include family law and human rights. During her 22 years of professional experience, she worked as a lawyer and as a professor of law at various universities in Colombia. Today, she is a lecturer in Spanish law and the Spanish language at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences, as well as at other institutions.
  • Dr. Marina Sancho Lopez
    Dr. Marina Sancho Lopez holds a law degree from the University of Valencia. She also holds a Master’s degree in “Human Rights, Democracy, and International Justice.” She currently teaches private law courses at the University of Valencia.
  • Francisco Castillo Iborra
    Francisco Castillo Iborra is a doctoral candidate at the “Manuel Broseta Pont” Chair of Commercial Law at the University of Valencia. He holds a degree in Law and Business Administration as well as a Master’s degree in Law and Legal Practice from the University of Valencia. Furthermore, he was awarded second place in the XII Prize for Young Researchers by the Autonomous University of Madrid.
