Development of a digital ecosystem to strengthen dual vocational education and training in Costa Rica

Brief Description

In collaboration with the Technical University of Darmstadt, the DiVET-CR project is being implemented with the goal of establishing a comprehensive digital platform for dual vocational training in Costa Rica. The Moodle-based platform is hosted on the servers of the Costa Rican Ministry of Education (Ministerio de Educación Pública, MEP) and is intended for teachers, trainers, companies, trainees, and the general public. The goal is to create an integrated digital ecosystem that digitizes training management, provides multimedia teaching and learning materials, and strengthens the integration of school-based and workplace-based learning environments.

Key activities also include the design, implementation, and evaluation of training programs for vocational education staff to strengthen digital skills (Vocational Education 5.0) and to support dual vocational training, as well as the development of a multimedia library featuring manuals, videos, and interactive AI elements. Implementation takes place in close and ongoing coordination with the responsible teams at the MEP, as well as with the involvement of industry and social partners in Costa Rica.
