Osnabrück Biology introduces itself: A new film presents the research in our department

For anyone who would like to get an impression of the research being conducted at Osnabrück Biology, there is now a new offer: a three-minute video featuring interviews with various members of our department.

The film, which was produced under the direction of Prof. Dr. Christian Kost by the Osnabrück-based video production company SchlarmannMedia, aims to provide a clear, authentic overview of our department for anyone interested. Four researchers give vivid accounts of their enthusiasm for biological research and the excellent opportunities available at Osnabrück University: Dr. Dmitry Shvarev (head of the Structural Biology of Photosynthetic Microorganisms research group), Swagatika Dash (PhD student in the Ecology division), Prof. Dr. Kerstin Bartscherer (head of the Animal Physiology division) and Prof. Dr Jacob Piehler (head of the Biophysics division).

‘It was important to us that the film reflected the excellent working conditions and collegial working atmosphere that we as researchers enjoy at Osnabrück University,’ explains Christian Kost. ‘I am particularly pleased that the film has captured the enthusiasm of those involved in their research so well.’

The SchlarmannMedia team shot most of the scenes for the film themselves at the Biology department within a few days of filming. The company also used videos provided by our former staff member Dr. Lena Dehnen.
