Specific steps
When applying for an exchange place at a partner university, in addition to an online application to the International Office, you must also submit a written application to your subject coordinator.
To apply online, please fill in all fields of the online form completely and note any messages you may receive regarding missing information.
After you have submitted the data, the form will automatically be made available to you as a PDF document. Please print it out, sign it and submit it together with the other application documents to the Erasmus subject coordinator for biology by the deadline.
- Language courses are not eligible for funding.
Exception: Participation in an intensive language course that takes place directly before the start of the semester abroad is covered by the Erasmus scholarship. - Health insurance: You will receive an EU health insurance card from your health insurance company. Please discuss the details with your health insurance company.
- Liability insurance: Ask your host university whether you will be insured and how exchange students are insurable at all. In addition, you should also contact your existing liability insurance in this regard.
Leave of absence
- Discuss with the staff at the examinations office whether you should take a leave of absence for the period of your stay abroad
Application to the partner university
- Independent application to the partner university (please read all Erasmus e-mails very carefully! The application deadline of the partner university must be absolutely respected!)
Learning Agreement
- The courses you are expected to take abroad are noted in the Learning Agreement. This facilitates the subsequent recognition of the achievements after your return.
- Please discuss options with the examination office and agree on which courses can be covered abroad.
- Your host university can help you find suitable courses.
- It is not uncommon to need to revise your course selection after you arrive at your host university. Please record any changes on the second page of your Learning Agreement.
- The signatures of all parties on all pages of the Learning Agreement are very important - only then is the document valid.
- After the first four weeks of your stay, please send the original of the complete Learning Agreement to the International Office in Osnabrück and a copy to the subject coordinator.
- Certificate of Attendance - will be sent
- This form must be signed by the Erasmus coordinator of the host university and certifies the duration of your stay.
- Experience report (form will be sent)
- Transcript of records (a few weeks after the end of your stay abroad you will receive your transcript of records from the partner university)
