Our research focuses particularly on:

  • understanding internal drivers of individual and collective human behavior at the root of environmental problems: This includes the role of preferences, beliefs, emotions, and inner skills.
  • designing and evaluating interventions and institutions to foster more sustainable behavior: We focus particularly on payments for environmental services, nudging, participatory interventions, and educational interventions training inner skills for sustainability transformation.
