Prerequisites: Statistics I, Basics in R
</p>
<p>
Traditionally, statistics classes are taught using a bag-of-tools approach, outlining different types of analyses without emphasizing how these analyses relate to one another. Here, we aim to provide a more integrated approach to conducting data analyses using linear models. Ultimately, students will
learn how to apply suitable analyses to different datasets using a rather small set of generic functions in R.
</p>
<p>
Topics will be:<br>
Day 1: Linear regression; Multiple regression<br>
Day 2: Model comparisons; Hypothesis tests; Predictions and diagnostics<br>
Day 3: Generalized linear models (e.g., poisson, logistic,)<br>
Day 4: Linear mixed models / Hierarchical models<br>
Day 5: t.b.a.<br>
In the morning there will be lectures and in the afternoon exercises.
There will be a multiple choice exam two-three weeks after the course </br>
