Content:
Are you nervous about presenting your work in English? Do you find it daunting to run a question and answer session following a presentation as a non-native speaker of English? This hands-on workshop presented by the Language Center offers doctoral candidates from all faculties the opportunity to gain confidence in presenting and discussing their work in English in academic and professional contexts. Participants will practice vocabulary and phrases that are commonly used to structure presentations, highlight important aspects and keep the audience’s attention. They will also be given the opportunity to give short presentations. In addition, participants will practice questions and phrases that can be used to answer difficult questions, ask for clarification and repetition or politely suggest discussing certain matters in a different context.
