The conference invited participants from member institutions of the international migration research network IMISCOE “to reflect critically on how migration research can be more deeply connected to the communities, places, and social actors with whom we engage as scholars.” Researchers from many different countries came together to discuss participatory, collaborative, and reflexive approaches to the production of knowledge on migration. IMIS and SFB 1604 members actively participated for example by presenting papers and engaging in panel discussions.
IMISCOE is the largest interdisciplinary network of scholars in the field of migration. It involves 73 member institutes, among them: IMIS, and more than 1,500 scholars from all over the world.
