Kevin Durrheim will introduce a new method that embeds speakers in a spatial representation based on the linguistic similarity of their contributions (“speaker landscapes”). Using word‑embedding techniques, speaker‑tokens that are easier to confuse are placed closer together, yielding a nuanced similarity measure that captures group membership and opinion structure. The tool is validated with two South African case studies.
