Beschreibung

This seminar will be conducted on line. Its format is experimental, suggested by the Corona crisis.
We are going to read this fantasy novel, and exchange our impressions and ideas as we go along, by reading diaries and short papers on specific subjects.
WARNING: The book contains brutal scenes, killings, maimings ... We will certainly discuss why peaceful people all over the world enjoy reading such stuff.
You can obtain 2 credit points for Freier Wahlbereich (Bachelor) through regular participation.
All students of English may participate. It is, however, specially offered to those who wished to attend my Survey Course and Concepts and Interpretations course (which, sadly, will have to be postponed to the winter semester). As Nevernight will be one of the three set books for the Modulabschlussklausur (B1), attending this experimental course can be recommended as preparation.
Please feel free to email or phone me (0541/969-4985, 8.00 to 12.30 hours, Monday-Friday) for further information, and enrol via StudIP by 27 April. In the course of following week I will send round a more detailed schedule, the particulars of which will depend on the number of participants. The course will start on 5 May.
