Beschreibung

The aim of this seminar is to make Osnabrück’s histories of (forced) migration more visible in the city in collaboration with Museumsquartier Osnabrück. Through this seminar, students will gain insight into the musealisation of migration in one of the central cultural institutions in the city. Knowledge on (forced) migration will be artistically and visually realised and, at the end of the project, presented to the public in Osnabrück. Students of the seminar will be affiliated with an ongoing participatory project in the museum: ‘(Forced) Migration in Osnabrück – yesterday, today, tomorrow.
We write histories of the city‘, where members of the civil society since spring 2020 have been working on collecting and bringing stories of activism and migration into the museum, into the public and official history of Osnabrück. The seminar will take place in the museum and will entail the practical realisation of exhibition elements: This will take place during block courses following the hygiene regulation of the city of Osnabrück.
