Beschreibung

This seminar is about the relationship of cognition and space from an experimental and modelling perspective. We will focus on the large space surrounding us, through which we move every day. This space is made up of objects of which the relations towards each other seem largely independent of us. Participants will acquire state of the art knowledge about how we organize these relations cognitively to navigate through that space and how the underlying mechanisms relate to other cognitive processes.

There will be a list of journal articles from which, to earn credits for this course, participants are required to select and present six articles. Participants are also required to regularly attend the seminar.
Presentations of articles are informal, kept brief (best 5 min – max 10 min), and followed by a group discussion.
For presenting, participants are required to prepare a handout (1 page) that should include their name, the title of the presented article, and the most important research questions, figures and results. Handouts should be printed for (and handed out to) each seminar group member. NO PowerPoint, only the handout will be used for presentation.
