This course looks at English syntax from a linguistic point of view, discussing various aspects concerning, for instance, syntactic categories, tense, aspect, modality, or clause and phrase structure. Moreover, we will discuss some theoretical aspects of English syntax and syntactic theories.

Please note: This seminar is designed for 4CP students only (V2, I-Module). Should you need only 2 CP please enroll in my "History of the English Language"-lecture.
Should there be any reasons why you cannot attend that lecture please send me an e-mail before the seminar starts. Only under certain circumstances, such as a particular interest in the topic, a provable scheduling conflict, or when you have already attended that lecture, you may approach me about completing this class for 2CP.
