The research group of Prof. Dr. Tim Kietzmann at the Institute of Cognitive Science invites applications for
1 Research Assistant (m/f/d)
(Salary level E 13 TV-L, 65%)
to be filled as soon as possible for a period 4 years.
Description of Responsibilities:
The position involves active participation in the research activities of the EU-funded Project "It's about time: Towards a dynamic account of natural vision". By bridging the fields of deep learning and computational neuroscience, the project aims to establish when, where, and how visual semantic understanding emerges in the brain, as it actively samples and integrates information from the world in a continuously updating and dynamic decision process.
Required Qualifications:
- An academic degree (Master/Diploma) in a relevant field (e.g. machine learning, cognitive/computational neuroscience, cognitive science, artificial intelligence, etc.), to be completed by the start date of the position.
- Experience and strong research interests in one or more area(s) of:
- machine/deep learning
- computational neuroscience/neuroimaging
- deep reinforcement learning
- Excellent scientific programming skills in Python (ideally including ML libraries such as scikit-learn/tensorflow/pytorch).
- An excellent command of the English language in written and spoken form.
