Project In (E)motion: Emotions as the motor of the ancient world
The In (E)motion project
The "In (E)motion" project group came together at the conference of the same name (see below). It deals with questions on the history of emotions in antiquity from all areas of ancient studies, such as politics, the military and gender. It examines the similarities and differences between emotions in expression, action and practice. For example, research is conducted into the extent to which fear in a military context differs from fear in a gender-specific comparison, for example in epics and tragedies, or which emotional strategies are used in the political sphere. Established researchers such as Douglas Cairns, Dennis Pausch, Christiane Kunst and Meike Rühl enrich the research group, which also serves to promote young researchers, with their expertise.
