Professionalizing all-day elementary school

It is about the digitally supported professional skills development of teaching staff at all-day elementary school. A joint project coordinated by the university has developed concepts for this.

Future through change?! Launch of the joint project agri:change

Between food security and sustainability goals: Around 160 experts came together at the launch of the agri:change joint project to develop ways to create a crisis-proof and sustainable agricultural and food industry.

Botanical Garden involved in wild plant conservation project

At the beginning of 2026, a project was launched that focuses on the important contributions of botanical species conservation to natural climate protection. One of the project partners is the Botanical Garden at Osnabrück University.

Prize for Outstanding Academic Teaching

The university awards three Hans Mühlenhoff Prizes for outstanding academic teaching. A special aspect is that students nominate their favorites among the teaching staff themselves.

03. Jul

Doctoral Awards Ceremony

Jointly with the City of Osnabrück, the University congratulates its doctoral graduates on successfully completing their doctoral thesis in the Schlossaula at Osnabrück University and the Friedenssaal in the town hall.

Osnabrück University, founded in 1974, has earned an outstanding reputation in research and teaching. Of particular importance: its international orientation and visibility. Around 14,000 students benefit from the "research-based learning" approach. And last but not least, business and university mutually stimulate each other through transfer services. The university is continuing its ambitious profile development with the strategic project "Strategic development of potential."

Freedom of expression, artistic freedom, freedom of the press and academic freedom are among the fundamental and inalienable rights granted and protected by our Basic Law.

Osnabrück University (UOS) emphasizes the special responsibility associated with these fundamental rights in the opening article of its constitution: Osnabrück University "fulfils its tasks in freedom, within the framework of its self-administration and obligation towards human rights, the environment and the peaceful and civil development of humanity".

This obligation applies to all areas of research and teaching - and to every member of our university.
