Welcome to the Department of Economics / International Economic Policy at the School of Business Administration and Economics at Osnabrück University.
The department is part of the Institute of Empirical Economic Research, which consists of the merger of the three predominantly empirically oriented chairs of Macroeconomics, Econometrics and Statistics and International Economic Policy.
Winter semester 2025/26
In WS 2025/26, Prof. Westermann will be on a research semester and will not offer any courses. Prof. Wilde's Master's project seminar may then be offered in English.

Sievert-Foundation Visiting Professor for Research on the Asian Economy
The financial support from the Sievert Foundation for Science and Culture makes it possible to invite two to three internationally renowned top academics to the School of Business Administration and Economics in Osnabrück each year, who occupy the visiting professorship for approximately two weeks. These include Yin-Wong Cheung (Department of Economics, University of California), Estelle Xue Liu (International Monetary Fund Washington), Rajeswari Sengupta (Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR), Mumbai, India), Wenhao Wang (Shandong University of Finance and Economics, Jinan, China), Yabin Wang (Norwegian University of Science and Technology), Do Khac Trung (Da Nang University of Economics, Vietnam); planned in 2026 Eiji Fujii (Kwansei Gakuin University, Japan).Other invited researchers from other universities and research-related institutions will present their scientific papers at the Institute of Empirical Economic Research (IEW)'s Economics Research Seminar.
