Qualification goals
Students are expected to earn knowledge of financial market institutions and the role these institutions play in
the process of money creation and in money and financial markets. They will acquire a deeper knowledge of
the functioning of monetary policy. Students will also be able to understand the risks typically associated with
banks’ business and the necessity of bank regulation.
Content
Institutional description of money and financial systems, channels and mechanisms of monetary policy
transmission; theoretical and empirical aspects of bank risks and the bank regulation
Components and semester hours per week
Lecture (2 semester hours per week) and supplementary study class (1 semester hours per week).
