Microeconomics (Prof. Humphrey)
Welcome to the Microeconomics department!
Welcome to the department “Microeconomics, in particular Information Economics” at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Osnabrück. On these pages you will find information about our courses and our research.
The Department of Microeconomics is responsible for teaching the core modules Microeconomic Theory and Information Economics.
Elective courses are also offered in the areas of our research interests. These include Behavioral Economics, Experimental Economics, Decisions under Risk, and Strategic Interactions in Games. All courses are taught in English.
The research interests of the department lie in experimental and theoretical approaches to the study of economic decision-making processes.
Our approach is behavioral, and accordingly, we incorporate insights from psychology into our research in order to expand and improve our understanding of economic behavior. Our staff publish their work in leading international journals, such as: Economic Journal, Economics Letters, European Economic Review, Journal of African Economies, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, Journal of Economic Psychology, Journal of Risk and Uncertainty and Theory and Decision.
