Invitation to Kick Off Event on October 14th
We are looking forward to welcoming our new master class with a Kick Off Event on October 14th, 2026.

While working on many law and tech projects, we often wondered why no one had ever explained to us how these things work; and when we finally understood how they worked and told our project partners that their technical solution ran into some legal hurdles, they asked us why we hadn’t told them sooner. So we put our heads together and developed this program—one we wish we had studied ourselves. A program that equips lawyers with enough technical knowledge to enable technological innovation and prepares engineers to comply with the law:
Welcome to the Master of European Technology Law!
Artificial intelligence, autonomous robots, AR technology, big data, digital twins, and the Internet of Things are challenging the legal system. Just as much, the legal system influences the way innovative ideas must be conceived, tested, and brought to market in order to succeed. Understanding both legal and technological terminology and concepts is key to turning technical innovations into reality. That is why we offer an interdisciplinary master’s program that combines methods and content from law and technology. The program includes research-oriented theory and practical projects. It is designed to develop “future skills.”
The master’s program is aimed at German or international graduates who have completed a degree in law or earned a Bachelor’s degree in computer science/software engineering and wish to explore the interplay between law and technology. The part-time program is designed for young professionals who need to balance their studies with their current careers. It is equally attractive to international students who wish to spend a year at another university and participate in additional academic activities such as research or language training.
