VR-based Conducting Station
The aim of the project was to develop and test a new, interactive and flexible learning, practice and analysis concept with a permanently installed station for conducting simulation. In addition to the extremely time-limited practice seminar in the large group, experiences from the online teaching of the Corona period were further developed and designed for practice units in self-study and with tutorial
individual support. A written concept by the lecturer, into which over 25 years of teaching and concert experience as well as new digital teaching and learning steps can be incorporated, will be created after the project phase is completed and will be available to students in the future as a comprehensive leiƞaden. The examination format of the previous artistic-practical
presentation could also be expanded to include digitally supported components.
The project could only be implemented in close cooperation with the Institute's Research Center for Music and Media Technology. Although a number of synergy effects, particularly technical ones, could be exploited here, in view of the challenge of reacting interactively to conducting movements, it quickly became apparent that the programming effort was only feasible for the first steps of the curriculum during the project period. However, the basis that has been created enables the project to be continued.
