History Didactics

What does History Didactics focus on?

History didactics concerns itself with ideas, depictions and representations as well as the conveyance of history within different contexts. Fundamentally, the interest of history didactics lies in the process learning about history in schools while asking the question of how history is perceived by individuals, discussed in society and depicted in public spaces. Additionally, the subject develops theoretical terms and concepts in line with subject-specific reflective knowledge, investigates its topics based on empirical studies and develops suggestions for practical implementations of mediation processes.

Clicking the link at the end of this text will lead you to our explanatory video “What Is History Didactics?”, where the basic theoretical terms are shortly introduced, connections are explained and history didactics as a concept is brought closer to those interested – please take a look and learn about our discipline.  Explanatory video link.
