Start of work

Since February 2026, I have been working as a research assistant and doctoral candidate at the Department of Quantitative Methods of Empirical Social Research and Social Structure Analysis at Osnabrück University. I am employed for the DFG research project "Who, why, how, and at what price? A mixed-methods study of caring for a sick child among working fathers and mothers", in the context of which I will also do my doctorate. Before joining Osnabrück University, I completed my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Sociology at Bielefeld University and gained professional experience at a social research institute.

My research

My research interest is in the area of family and work, where I like to focus on gender inequalities. I am also very interested in different methods of survey research.

I am therefore looking forward to pursuing these interests in the DFG project, which aims to gain deeper insights into the care of a sick child by working parents (CSC) and the associated gender inequality, while testing and further developing a mixed-methods approach in this research area.

Doctorate

I will write my PhD thesis as part of the quantitative part of the research project. In this part, we will conduct online surveys that include conjoint and vignette experiments. In combination with the qualitative approach, which mainly relies on semi-structured narrative interviews and photo vignettes, we will close the data gap on CSC and gain deep insights into the care of sick children.
