Welcome to the Joint Lab AI & DS

The  Osnabrück University and the  Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Engineering and Bioeconomy (ATB) in Potsdam are now jointly training doctoral students at the interface of agricultural science and artificial intelligence. The cooperation is funded by the Lower Saxony Ministry of Science and Culture (MWK) together with the Volkswagen Foundation as part of the "zukunft.niedersachsen" program with around € 6.7 million. The associated partners are  Agrotech Valley Forumthe  German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) and the  Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences. The core objective of the Joint Lab AI & DS is to develop artificial intelligence (AI) and data science (DS) expertise, particularly for agricultural technology issues.

 

The Joint Lab AI & DS pursues three goals:

  1. The promotion of young scientists
  2. Project work with all partners on the set topics
  3. To establish a location for the Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Engineering and Bioeconomy (ATB) in Lower Saxony.

Into the agriculture of the future with artificial intelligence

The AI-Reallabor Agrar (RLA) was officially opened on Friday, October 17, under the leadership of Osnabrück University together with seven partners.

More than presence: Spring Retreat 2025 in Osnabrück

The Joint Lab's spring retreat took place in Osnabrück from March 19 to 21, 2025. In addition to many lectures and plenary discussions, there was room for exciting project exchanges.
