Software access / registration form
- Access to the OMERO server is available to both members of Osnabrück University and non-university members.
- OMERO.web is usable from anywhere - whether you are at home, in the office or on the road. The OMERO desktop clients only work in the Biology network - either accessible via a network cable (LAN) or via VPN.
- New users must register for a user account using the registration form. The account created does not belong to a specific department or research group. Department heads or research group leaders can assign users to their OMERO groups to enable data sharing.
- The access data (user name and password) are the same as for StudIP. The user name is the LDAP identifier (e.g. xmuster).
Please note:
The following instructions without installation apply only to members of the School of Biology/Chemistry at Osnabrück University whose computer is located in the Biology network - either via a network cable (LAN) or via VPN.
All others can download the clients under OMERO Downloads and follow the instructions described there.
Windows:
- Click on the Windows start button (or press WIN+R).
- Enter in the program/file search bar: \\omero.cellnanos.uni-osnabrueck.de\tools and press Enter.
- Copy the shortcuts OMERO.insight and OMERO.importer from the Tools folder to your desktop. If you have a Windows 32bit system, please copy the shortcuts OMERO.insight_32bit and OMERO.importer_32bit.
- Now you can open the clients on your desktop with a double click.
NOTE: Please do not copy the InsightClient directory, but the shortcuts. By copying the shortcut to your system, the current InsightClient is automatically pulled into the working memory.
