Taster week

Does cognitive science sound interesting? Try it out!

The CogSci taster week is aimed at all those who are considering studying Cognitive Science as a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Osnabrück, in particular:

  • High school graduates: High school students
  • Students from other disciplines who would like to change their subject
  • Bachelor students of related subjects

The taster week is organized by the student body and the  mentoring team and offers you a relaxed and informal setting to get to know the university, lectures, research topics, lecturers, fellow students and Osnabrück and then make an informed and confident decision as to whether Cognitive Science is right for you.

Participation in the introductory week is free of charge. For participants who are not from Osnabrück or the surrounding area, a bed can be booked at the youth‑recreation centre “Hollager Mühle”. Some participants can also be accommodated with Cognitive Science students.

What is on the program?

We’ll kick off on Monday morning (June 15) with an informal welcome meeting and breakfast in the Schlossgarten (“SchloGa”). There you’ll meet the organizers and hosts in person.

During the following days you’ll have the opportunity to attend lectures. In addition, we’re offering a varied side programme, for example a joint visit to the campus canteen, a city rally, or evening events.

The introductory week will conclude on Thursday afternoon (June 18) with a closing meeting, also in the Schlossgarten.

For students who are interested in the Master's program, we can put together an individual program of seminars and lectures according to individual interests.
