Intellectual Humility in Times of Epistemic Dysfunction

Overview:

Intellectual humility is often considered an epistemic virtue and one of the central fruits of philosophical pedagogy. However, it is unclear if cultivating or adopting an attitutde of intellectual humility is an epistemically virtuous or otherwise appropriate way to engage with a world that seems increasingly characerized by fake news, propaganda, disinformation, deepfakes, bullshitting, and a host of other epistemically toubling phenomena.
