RTG Situated Cognition
Overview:
In this cooperative interdisciplinary DFG-funded Research Training Group (2017-2026) between Osnabrück University and Ruhr-Universität Bochum, we at the Institute of Philosophy investigate the extent to which language comprehension is a situated (especially embodied) process and the extent to which language can serve as a kind of cognitive scaffold to support various cognitive processes. We are also currently investigating the role of language in the psychiatric context, particularly in cases of depersonalization.
