The Moral Wrong of Sexual Violation

Overview:

Consent plays an important role in our everyday lives, for example when lending items, agreeing to cookies on websites, or donating blood after work. Sexual consent is a particularly hot topic in the philosophical literature. This PhD research project addresses the question of what exactly consent does in sexual encounters. It also deals with the question of whether sexual encounters are perhaps “morally special" and what this could mean for the normative role of consent.
