Study commissions
The subject-specific study commission must be involved in all matters relating to teaching, studies and examinations before the school executive board can make decisions. In addition, the study commissions are involved in the evaluation of teaching and decide on the use of study quality funds.
At the School of Human Sciences, each of the four institutes has its own study commission, each of which consists of eight members with voting rights (six in Philosophy). Four members (three in Philosophy) belong to the group of students and two members each to the group of university lecturers and the group of academic staff (in Philosophy there is one member from the group of academic staff). The committee is chaired by the current Dean of Studies, who does not have the right to vote. The study commissions pass resolutions with a simple majority, which cannot be reached without the unanimous consent of the student representatives.
