Research projects
Research at the Chair of Information Management and Information Systems has been characterized by a high level of project and third-party funding activity for many years. The Chair has extensive experience in the initiation, acquisition and implementation of interdisciplinary research projects with national and international funding institutions and in close cooperation with industry and practice partners.
A central feature of the project work is the balanced relationship between theoretically based and application-oriented research. In addition to conceptual and model-oriented work, practical collaborative and transfer projects are implemented in which AI-supported information systems are developed, tested and evaluated under real organizational, economic and regulatory conditions.
The establishment and systematic further development of project-based research began at the Chair at Osnabrück University and was successfully established there over several years. On this basis, third-party funded activities were later continued at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) consistently continued and expanded. Today, the focus there is on large, interdisciplinary collaborative and lighthouse projects that combine research, transfer and institutional development.
The research projects listed below are therefore structured first according to the projects for which DFKI is responsible and then according to the projects carried out at Osnabrück University.
