Current topic suggestions for theses

Here you will find current topic suggestions for all types of theses (Bachelor/Master). The suggestions should be seen as a guide and will only be further specified in a personal discussion. It is also possible to contact the supervisors with your own ideas/topics. However, their individual priorities and those of the subject area must be taken into account.

As a rule, there is sufficient capacity available to supervise students from all disciplines/areas (as long as their interests lie in the area of the supervisor's focus).

The exact definition of the topics will be discussed with the supervisor (malte.hoegemann@uni-osnabrueck.de).
Depending on the topic, all projects generally offer the option of adopting either a qualitative (e.g. structured literature review, expert interviews) or quantitative (e.g. questionnaires, statistical analysis) approach
• The impact of generative AI (primarily text-to-text and text-to-image, and possibly also text-to-speech and text-to-audio) on business and society
• Anthropomorphism in AI, and where relevant, human–machine interaction in AI
• AI hype, expectations and reality
• The dark side of AI: data protection, deepfakes, copyright, social and ethical challenges
• Governance, compliance and the AI Act: legally compliant and people-centred implementation
of AI solutions in businesses and institutions
• Open topic proposals relating to ChatGPT (or open-source models) and their application in education and business
