The Department of Public Economics offers a Bachelor seminar on “Inequality of income, wealth, and tax burdens: Empirical findings and fiscal policy measures” in the winter semester 2025/2026.

Qualification Goals

Students should acquire basic skills in a selected field of economics with special emphasis on public economics. They should acquire basic methodological knowledge of scientific work by writing a term paper and further improve their communication skills by giving a presentation.

Content

Selected topics in the field of economics with emphasis on public economics.

Components and semester hours per week

Seminar 2 semester hours per week.

Frequency

In the summer semester/ winter semester.

Examination performence

Paper (10-30 pages) and presentation (15-45 minutes).

Calculation of the module grade

The partial examination in the term paper is given a weighting of 60% and the partial examination in the presentation is given a weighting of 40% in the module grade.
