Prof. Dr. phil., born 1968; Professor of Social Geography with a focus on population and migration research, Osnabrück University.

Studied geography, mathematics and philosophy at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn and at University College London; 1st state examination in mathematics and geography (Sec. II/I, 1995); DFG scholarship holder in the graduate school "Migration in Modern Europe" at IMIS (1995-1998); doctorate at Osnabrück University (summa cum laude, 2001); research assistant at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University Frankfurt am Main (2000-2007); habilitation (2006). Member since 2007, Executive Board since 2008, Director of IMIS from 1.10.2009 to 31.12.2020.
